Event Description
Love writing? Join the club!
Each session of our Young Writers’ Club will include activities to spark new ideas, and discussions with hosts from varied creative backgrounds. Share your stories and grow your skills in a fun and supportive community. All types of writing are welcome - fiction, non-fiction, poetry and more!
We will be joined by:
30 July – Lakshmi (SoulReserve). Poet, writer and mentor.
13 and 27 August - Em Readman. Award-winning writer, writing with a cause.
10 and 24 September, 22 October and 5 November - Nina Dakin. Illustrator, comic book writer and storyboard artist.
19 November and 3 December - HM Waugh. Children’s author, educator and environmental scientist.
17 December – Nina Dakin. End of year wrap up and party.
The club meets from 4.30 to 6pm at Success Library, with the last half hour dedicated to free writing and feedback.
Bookings preferred - ages 13 to 17.
Enjoy snacks (brain food!) supplied by Cockburn Youth Services.
