Event Description
The Names of a Hare is a new historical fiction novel set in Cornwall in 1628 and tells of a young woman steeped in herbal secrets, spells and folklore, at at time when she is in danger of being tried for witchcraft. In a world that fears what it cannot explain, a story shared is the most potent magic of all.
Join author Bernice Barry, a writer and historian who is passionate about telling women's stories where truth has been obscured by time. Bernice is originally from Cornwall and now lives near Margaret River. Her previous books include both historic fiction and non-fiction.
A magical tale of forbidden witchcraft. Can a woman gifted with the power of healing survive in a world that burns what it cannot understand?
When witchfinder Matthew Hopkins sets out to hunt her down, their meeting will change the course of history.
